Simon Williams, Senior Principal with Spruson & Ferguson Lawyers has over 25
years’ experience in intellectual property law. Simon practices across a broad range
of intellectual property matters, and has specialist experience in licensing and
litigation. In his capacity as a litigator, Simon has been involved in numerous and
significant intellectual property cases. He has worked with a wide range of local and
international clients, providing advice and representation in trade mark, patent,
copyright, design and breach of confidential information matters.

Simon’s expertise is reflected in his affiliations within various organisations. Simon
is a member of the Business Law Section (Intellectual Property Committee) of the
Law Council of Australia, the International Bar Association, the American Intellectual
Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society, the Copyright Society
and the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand. He is also an
active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and has served on
various INTA committees.

Simon continues to be recognised by his peers as one of the world’s leading patent
and trademark lawyers.

Simon is admitted as a solicitor in various jurisdictions in Australia and New Zealand
(the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and Victoria, the Federal Court and High
Court of Australia, and barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand), and
as a registered Australian trade mark attorney.
