Principal, Mechanical Team Ryan Curnick practises primarily in the field of mechanical patents and registered designs across a range of industries, including: construction, sanitary ware, mining, automotive/transport, consumer products, heating/cooling systems, agricultural and locks. Ryan has a particular specialisation in the patenting of medical devices, and has extensive experience in this field including; CPAP, surgical screws, knee replacements, prosthetics, heart assist technology, opthalmics, and syringes. A professional engineer, he holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. His career began as a project/design engineer with ICI Explosives and he has also worked as an patent examiner with the Australian Patent Office. Ryan was awarded the Institute Prize in 1995 for the best candidate on qualifying as a patent attorney. He joined Spruson & Ferguson in 1996
