Lee Pippard’s practice embraces patents in a broad range of technologies, including computing, multimedia, digital signal processing and biomedical applications. He has particular experience in analog systems, signal processing and computerised control. Appointed a Principal in 1996, Lee is an electrical engineer with almost 20 years experience as a registered patent attorney practising within Spruson & Ferguson’s electrical group.

He is deeply involved in the protection of industrial designs for a diverse range of clients and made submissions before Parliament as part of the recent revision of Australia’s registered designs legislation. Lee began his career as a weapons electrical officer in the Royal Australian Navy, and is a senior member of the Institution of Radio and Electronics Engineers of Australia and a member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.

Lee is active in introducing intellectual property to undergraduate engineering students and post graduate management students at a number of universities in the Sydney region, presenting lectures and supporting student project activities. Lee also serves as a councillor and Honorary Secretary of the Committee of the Australian Group of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association.
