Kristian is a Principal of the firm and is based in Singapore where he is a Director of our associated Asian practice, Ella Cheong Spruson & Ferguson (ECSF). Kristian has considerable experience in patent practice in Asia and is Head of the Chemical & Life Science Group at ECSF. His practice primarily involves the preparation, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, advice in relation to patent validity and enforcement, patent strategy, patent revocation actions, and patent infringement advice, predominantly in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, nanotechnology, materials science, and process engineering.

Prior to joining the firm, Kristian worked for several years in the patent group of one of Australia’s major law firms. He has also worked for a firm of patent agents in the United Kingdom.

Kristian is a qualified Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney and a Singapore Patent Agent. His technical qualifications include a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Hons) degree from Curtin University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) degree from Murdoch University.

Kristian is a Fellow of the Institute of Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys of Australia and is an Executive Committee member of the Association of Singapore Patent Agents. Kristian is also a member of the Patent Examination Committee of the Board of Patent Examiners of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, and is involved in the setting and marking of the examination papers for candidates seeking qualification
as Singapore Patent Agents.
