Januar holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours and a PhD from the University of Queensland.  His PhD thesis was related to smart antenna systems and wireless channel prediction algorithms.  After completing his PhD, he undertook postdoctoral research at Macquarie University working in the field of communications, mainly in satellite communications and complex RF feed-network systems.

Januar has published a number of peer-reviewed research articles in international journals and has presented at numerous international conferences.

He joined the firm in 2010.
