Arlene is a Registered Trade Marks Attorney. Arlene has extensive experience in all aspects of trade marks including search analysis and advice, prosecution of domestic and overseas applications, opposition proceedings, enforcement of trade mark rights, brand protection and consumer protection provisions of the Trade Practices Act and passing off. Arlene joined Spruson & Ferguson in April 2008.

Prior to joining the firm, Arlene worked for several years with an IP firm and in the trade marks groups of some of Australia’s major law firms. Arlene is a qualified lawyer in the Philippines and is a member of the Philippine Bar. She was a partner in a Philippine Law firm (Beltran & Associates) and was a lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Santo Tomas before coming to Australia. Arlene also worked with the multi-national company, Unilever Australia for a number of years and has since worked with clients across a broad range of industries.
