Andrea Ruhrmann specialises in the field of mechanical engineering patents and registered designs. Her knowledge and experience encompasses a wide variety of technologies including medical devices, environmental engineering, mining equipment, petroleum engineering, gas turbine engines, automotive and aeronautical components and applications, consumer products and ventilation and filtration systems.

She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in fluid mechanics. She was also awarded a PhD for research in the field of Ground Effect Aerodynamics in association with the British American Racing Formula 1 team. Her research involved designing a wind tunnel test model and conducting both wind tunnel experiments and computational simulations of the model.

Andrea is a qualified European and UK patent attorney and has ten years experience working for a leading London firm of patent and trademark attorneys. She joined Spruson & Ferguson in August 2011.
