Albert began his career in Trade Mark Law in 1980 shortly after arriving in Australia from the United States where he graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree from Arizona State University. Albert is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
He has extensive experience in all aspects of Trade Mark Law including working with Graphic Designers and Marketing Professionals to achieve the best brand position for clients, appearances at Trade Mark Hearings, serving on INTA Committees and presenting seminars on issues such as protection of Geographical Indications and Brand Management and Trade Mark Infringement Online.
Albert's work with clients is comprehensive in relation to trade marks, including trade mark searches and registration, assisting with the choice of trade marks that are registrable and advising on the availability of trade marks worldwide.
Albert advises both Australian and overseas businesses in a variety of industries from pharmaceuticals to computer software. He works closely with marketing professionals and graphic designers to develop both protectable and strong brands for clients, particularly in the areas of franchising, sports and entertainment.
Albert's specialities include trade mark registration and prosecution, trade mark searches and opinions on registrability and infringement, trade mark oppositions and non use actions, trade mark dispute resolution, trade mark watching and surveillance, trade mark strategizing trade mark portfolio management, trade mark investigations, trade mark audits and international trade mark protection.
