Aaron holds a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Chemistry and a PhD in physical chemistry, both from the University of Newcastle. His doctoral research, undertaken at the Australian Research Council Special Research Centre for Multiphase Processes, focused on the optimisation of aggregation kinetics in aqueous colloidal systems.
After completing his PhD, Aaron worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant with the European Union Marie Curie Research/Training Network on Dynamical Arrest in the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom. His research focused on the design and synthesis of novel colloids as building blocks for photonic crystals.
Aaron has published a number of peer-reviewed research articles in international journals and has presented at numerous scientific conferences and meetings. He is a member of Royal Australian Chemical Institute and the International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists.
