Our team has extensive intellectual property (IP) and industry experience in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology and biomedical engineering.

We represent many of the world’s largest international biotechnology and pharmaceutical corporations, leading universities, hospitals, research institutes and individual inventors.

Our strengths in the biotechnology field were recognised by the Commonwealth Government of Australia when a multi departmental government agency, Biotechnology Australia, commissioned SPRUSON & FERGUSON to present a training course to over 550 participants around Australia. As an accompanying text for the course we developed the Biotechnology IP Management Manual which has now acquired international recognition as a valuable resource.

We recognise the importance of the continuing professional and scientific development. Many of our team are members of, or play active roles in, associations such as AusBiotech, the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Australian Society for Microbiology and the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
